I actually liked it because of it. The retro thing could be attributed to the sites "locals" feel (i myself not exactly being one)

Or perhaps riding down the slanted part of the "R" in "Forum"? Idk...a snowboarder in the QR code might get lost or busy?
Also, JeffreyCH: I think a rider graphic carving a nice white line down the black peak of your design with the triangle peak would add something interesting visually to that area and it's a way to include a snowboarder into the design. I like the idea of using a graphic from a member photo, like how herzogone used that one of Cro. It makes it a little more unique while having a personal (for lack of a better word) touch to it. I've followed this thread since it started and I enjoy seeing all the creative ideas from everyone! |

I like the QR code in the design, esp because it reminds me of snow (see why below..). Just not sure how it would work with a snowboarder graphic in the code. But, hey, give it a go and see; I could be wrong!

Regardless, I really like what you said about snowboarding being an art form and being attractive as such. I would contribute a design for this thread but I don't have software to make it happen, nor much experience with graphic design programs. |
