I have not seen a dislike plugin but I know there is a like and thanks plugin I can get put on here if you guys want.
Some forums love it and others hate it. It can make threads look a little crowded. I figure I can put the ticket in to have it installed if it looks like a shit show in a few weeks we can turn it off.
I like that idea. I'm unsure how it will play out here, but it might be worth a trial run. I'm open minded to whatever crazy schemes you guys cook up. May I suggest an updated layout (fonts, color scheme, etc.). Simply appearance based. I remember coming to this forum a few years ago, I was really turned off by the y2k look. The fonts and overall layout are pretty dated, especially with all the crazy shit we're starting to see with HTML5. Basically, my question is can we update this version of vBulletin. If you guys need money for the license, I'll throw $20 down now for it. Seems like a good enough cause....
I don't know if it has been mentioned, but making it so when you click on a forum topic it takes you to the last page of the thread. This is just for the homepage. It is kind of annoying clicking on it and then having to click last page.
Hate to be the only one to disagree but I can't see why its needed. This is a forum first. Adding things like twitter and a news feed are not necessary. The thing I like most about this site is that its a good place to come and shoot the shit without having the rest of the bullshit along with it.
Just my 0.02.
roremc, I am agree with 99% of what you are saying. No way in hell is there going to be a twitter feed.
I want to have a section where we can post snowboard related news though. Probably not a feed. Something we can post up info on as we get it. Events, new products, cool things riders are doing.
I also want to have big deal threads easily found there. East Coast Meet comes to mind. Maybe a thread feature. Karasene's trip to Patagonia is a good example. Maybe a pic on the front page from here trip and a link to the TR. That sort of stuff.
Not much more than that. I also want our navigation quirks to get worked out too. I still find it a little bit annoying at this time.
So I never knew you could rate the threads in this forum. I do now though. Guess I never really looked for it. I still think a like button for individual posts would be a nice addition though. My main reason for thinking this is that sometimes you come to a thread and realise that people have already said exactly what you would have said. So instead of repeating yourself un-neccessarily you can just "like" the post that already states how you feel. I don't think it will turn the forum into a popularity contest, but then again what the hell do I know? From the sounds of it though, it's something that could be tried out, and then if it fails miserably, can be removed fairly easily. I don't see the harm in it.
Oh yeah!? Well, my mom says I'm cool!
