Ummm, I'm not getting any....advertising on facebook, Gmail and Yahoo.....Now my question is this: If websites and their advertisers know people are blocking their ads, what then??

Opinions are like arseholes, everybody's got one.

You have to imagine how many people don't use adblocking programs let alone FF/chrome. They are still making plenty of money.

I just use the MVPS HOSTS blackhole file at A Troubleshooting and Security Guide for using the MVPS HOSTS file

It just redirects all the well-known ad sites to localhost. I don't even get static banners, let alone poop-ups.

Error 404. Coffee not found.

Not to sound rude, but it sounds like you have a bigger problem than firefox/adblock going on. Use chrome anyways. Firefox is only good for large downloads and that is about it.

You have me slightly worried now, I only just installed Adblock plus for Chrome yesterday, but then again, Windows machines are notoriously unstable anyway, which is why I'm thinking about a Macbook Pro.

Now I'm also wondering if they are going to make it illegal to download ad blocker programs, or, they let you do it, but attach viruses to them....we are forced to pay through our arseholes for music and movies, and they wonder why people download them....like I say, as if Hollywood isn't makeing enough already....we are bombarded with advertising everywhere, on the internet, billboards, newspapers, magazines etc....capitalist greed I tell you! End rant.

There is nothing to worry about.... Millions of people run chrome/FF w/adblock without any problems.

In recent tests macs and PCs (laptop wise) are almost identical in performance. Keep in mind most of these tests are done with a mac that costs $1000 and a pc that costs $700. In the end macs will be a tad faster out of the box, but they are more expensive with less options for you to choose from.

If you like macs, stay with macs. If you like PCs, stay with PCs.
