Why is there a fee for these boards?

I'm a member of many boards, Mustang boards/Archery Boards/Gun boards & a couple more. This website would be much more popular if there wasn't a fee, having to pay to get an avatar and all the options you can get on ANY other forum for free is gay :dunno: Not going to gain many members when there seeing there is a fee, it will turn away like 70% of the people that come across here. The object is gain many members so we can get alot more feedback & questions answered & so on.

True, but it sorts out the knuckle heads from the cool cats hahaha leaving the cool cats responsible for having a respectable forum. Generally speaking the folks on this forum seem like nice folk compared to other forum i've been on. gee wiz F this F that loser this loser that its sad. thats why I love snowboarding the community seems really down to earth. hahaha off track! yeah the forum fee's are stupid yeah :oS hahaha

well i didnt have to pay a fee to join these forums, and even tho i dont get as many options as those to DO pay a fee, i can still join in the converstaion and discussions which take place on the boards.

i cant really complain.

I didn't pay anything, but I still have an avatar. I think you have to pay to have a signature, but that's probably just to avoid advertising.

Your still here aren't you? Then it's worth it, avatar or not. Most boarders on the site don't even become members, they just read the forums. To be able to talk to others about what you like and get questions answered and once in a while be able to help someone, that's what it's all about here. There are so many areas on this site to go to meet people with the exact same interests, problems, or opinions, it's worth whatever you want it to be. Free is good, fees stink, but we're still here having fun no? What's the problem again?????

Someone remind me where it says you need to pay to have an avatar? I have an avatar, right? I can see it. I haven't paid a dime to be here. Are you confusing Avatar with Signature or did I miss something here...?

hero_of_the_Jay 07-30-2007 09:35 PM

The fees are only for full access. like a larger avatar, picture in signature, larger privite message capacity and extra features. not paying doesn't necessarily restrict you. expect for the speacil premium section of the forum lol but whats the point to no one posts in there lol

I'll give you my experince then. Me and my cuz (nikolai on the boards here) were searching for snowboarding forums for the chicagoland area but could not find any & we came accross these boards from google prolly. We clicked on it and went to register and the 1st thing that popped up was the payment option, the 1st thing that went through ours heads was screw that before we even read further. Since I couldnt find many more snowboarding forums I thought hey what the hell maybe they have a free option? They did.. My cuz still said screw that, i'm like we'll lets give it a try anyways. Being that payment info came up period turns people away ASAP before they even read further AND even when they do read further people assume the boards won't have many people on it for that reason. Why even have payment info come up for options people dont care about? It's just scaring people away (Almost did me) I just so happen to read further & even after that try it out. They should have like a donation thread or a donation tab to click on the site somewhere instead of a payment info right when you register for options that make no sense to pay for.:dunno:

it's good...

The 10$ fee is good and fair. 10 bucks is peanuts. Plus It keeps this forum clean from spammers.
