Cool, that makes me feel a lot better. Still too bad he left but at least it wasn't malice that lead to the mass delete.

I always tell people Snowolf taught me how to snowboard and I never met him

Based on his body of work here, quite honestly I don't know how he kept it up. There was a lot of detailed material posted for new riders and help he provided many others. It seemed like an incredible commitment.

I would hope that the higher ups realize that his posts and advice drew many new riders to this forum. Myself included. His detailed posts about riding were some of the most important parts of the forum. If he wants his material unavailable for business reasons I can see why. Why pay him when you can get it for free here? I would hope efforts are being made to reach out to him to make his body of work available. If not publicly, as a paid part of the forum.

I doubt he will turn back now and look but, "Thanks Wolfie!!"

this isnt true actually. if he had only deleted his account then all his posts would remain and they would look like this

you can't even delete the amount of posts he had normally. he had to do something called a "prune" which is only an option available to administrators

He must have had a back up. I would want the material. He wrote a few books over the years on this forum He must have wanted to keep some of it. Maybe I am just a data hog. But, I could never delete that amount knowledge. We will never know until someone talks

It was self inflicted. He used the prune function to remove all of his posts. They are gone to the winds.

I would imagine admins/owners have database backups somewhere, so if someone really wanted to, one could get them back.

Shrug, not my business, though.

Restoring a backup would erase everything that's been posted since the time the backup was created. It would be like stepping back in time, everything we're typing now or anything posted in the last couple of days would be erased.

I didn't even think about that...any thread he started is gone, along with any posts made in those threads. Selfish move IMO
