regional section? - Snowboarding Forum

I don't know if this has been suggested or not but, I couldn't find anything about it so I thought I'd add it as a suggestion.
Now I like to think of all snowboarders as one big community living in a region I like to call earth.

However, I like having regional sections on forums because it makes it so easy to meet and chat with people in your region that you may not have meet otherwise. Which tends to lead to having more people to ride with. Maybe the admin feel that the forum doesn't quite have the population for this yet and are just letting it grow some more. I defintely think that this are just going to keep growing here so this could be something to think about.

Yeah, we've been talking about it, and trying to figure out how to sectionalize the regions to satisfy as many people as possible.

yea i think the best way to split the US is in 3 parts.

this place has a poll facility no?
why not put out for a week or two simply asking where people are from / where they ride the most?
i mean central canuck? that's as well populated with snow covered hills as east america (hehehe)

and so just add up the totals, and draw a conclusion based on fact rather than opinion.

otherwise, the admins could get off their You Tube watching arses and just review the user account details which asks you to include your country / dwelling / origin etc....

How I would personally like this place set up is to have each place make their own thread. (SHUT YER TRAP AND KEEP READING BEFORE YOU PICK THIS POST APART PLEASE.) And what I mean, is, let's say, there are a bunch of people from Virgina, there could be a thread for them. Or if there are a bunch of Denverites, there could be a thread dedicated to them. It might get a little messy to start off, but I think it would be better than comparmenalizing everyone into a particular section of the world. (This idea is actually based off of another site I frequent, though not snowboard related.)

Hey guys. We are tossing around ideas and should make a few changes here and there.

One thing to keep in mind, this is not sb.com. It would be really lame to mirror that forum layout and would just make this a carbon copy. Somethings will be similar, other things we may take a different approach. I know some of you will hate it, be my guest and bitch away. Others may like it. Either way, give it a chance. We can always tweak if it ain't working.

I dunno. This is what I noticed from other larger communities than say, sb.com, and it seems to work ok. But eh, this is just my opinion, and er, I was slightly angry/drunk last night, so sorry if that post seemed a bit angry or anything.
