I realize that there are 50,000 threads about these, yet I'm still stumped.

Why is it that they deplete just by sending a private message? I've sent 2 and I went from positive to negative. I'm ultra confused on why they are even still there... Do people even pay attention to them? I love this forum and all, but that's just one thing that doesn't make any sense to me... WHY ARE THERE CREDITS? Yes of course the answer is you used to be able to buy little nick knacks for your username and what not, but if those are gone, why do we still have the credit system? Is there a set time frame for those to things to come back or just whenever the site is moved to a new host?

Chances there is a thread which explains what raises and what lowers your credits and by how much? I've got two loans and still negative yet I'm fairly active on here... I can't logically find a reason to post 40 times a day to keep up with the credit situation...

I'm still working my way towards positive. I've still got a ways to go though. I think the credit system has an advantage since it might persuade users to come around to the forums more and contribute to the forum.

I completely agree with the encouraging more posts, but i shouldn't feel obliged to have to post. I mean I love this place yet again, but c'mon not being super active and still going negative hurts. Hopefully some kinks get worked out soon...

you lose credits for every day you do not post anything on a forum thread.

this might make you feel like your arm is being twisted but really, if you have billions of credits it changes nothing, and so what if you are 'in the red'?

it used to be nice to buy silly shit for people. i won the lottery, bought about 20 gifts for everyone and then the next week, everything got wiped!

no gifts and a lower credit score. but meh.

it works in other forums, where you can bet on stuff like hockey etc., but what snowboarding thing can you hope the admin team will post odds for?

makes no sense and so just ignore.

Is it possible to just disable them? I doubt anybody actually cares about them and all they do is cause confusion.

I think you get points for logging on too. Like based on how long you are looking at the forum. Its not much.

Yeah I'm pretty sure you get points for logging on too. I notice that my credits go up just by logging in and coming to this site every day.

Loans is not the way as you have to pay interest.

I've understood this. I'd never do it in rl. Eh, it got me positive for a while, plus I'm maintaining positive even with the interest and what not.
