2009 Lib Dark Series 161 review
I will first start off with the caveat that this review is based on spring skiing in Mammoth last week that was just plain awesome. This board handled well over the whole mountain from the park to the trees. The board was predictable allowing me to ride the same on serious ice in the morning up top to deep slushies in the afternoon, green or black runs the board just owned it. The first day I tried to ski in to the hotel through houses, trees, crossing roads and for a 161 the board was very nimble. The board never slid out, rarely caught edge, and took little damage when hitting rocks, stumps or trees. In the negative a few times the board’s tail would start randomly flapping and it seems the board’s tail and nose edging could be better. Angle I rode was –6 back, +15 front with 10.5 Burton motos, goofy. The board rode fakie very well. A little narrow, no front or rear edging, but had a very unique natural feeling. I traded my buddy to ride his NS–SL and even though it felt more solid of a board I wanted the natural feeling Lib back haha. Overall great board.
