Hello to all the forum members,

I am a beginner rider. Just transitioned from skiing to snowboarding last season. I would like to know if the equipment I bought over the summer for next season will suffice for a beginner. I bought the 2010/11 never summer circuit 155 and partnered that with the 2010 flux super emblems (medium). I am 5'7", 170 lbs. and size 8 on boots. I currently have the 2011 K2 raider for boots. I am just learning how to link turns last season and hope to progress next season. I rented the board and the bindings last season. I would like anyone's opinion if the set up I have will make me progress to becoming a better rider. I would also like to know if I am able to use my set up to determine what kind of rider I will be.
A friend of mine is going to give me the flux ds45 from last year as a gift. I would like to know which board I can partner it with? Of course these bindings will not be used until I am better at riding. I have my eye on the evo or the sl from never summer. I have read many good things about these boards. I am thinking that I may as well stick with the never summer boards for I have read many good reviews about them.
Any opinions will be much appreciated.

Thank You

Pretty much any board is going to work for you being that you are a beginner. You decide what type of riding you like to do, not your board. Some boards are better suited for a style of riding than others, but they all work with the same principals. The Circuit should be fine for you.

The EVO would be better for you if you like jibbing a lot. The SL is more of an all mountain park board. It sounds like neither of them are what you need at the moment.

No opinions on the Flux bindings. They seem well made, I just have no experience with them.
