Review: 2011 Arbor Push
My first board was a 142 K2 Luna from many moons ago (no pun intended) and altho she will always be my first love it was time for an amicable breakup. We had some good times but she chattered at speed and got bogged down in even the smallest accumulations of snow. After much deliberation i went for the push in a 148 (i weigh about 50kg/110lbs) it took some getting used to as it's a good 6cm jump from my old length but nothing too daunting and let me tell you, she rides like a dream!
So very fast and stable, in fact i think she's capable of going faster than i'm comfortable with at the moment and altho she is on the stiffer side in terms of flex i don't find it at all difficult to initiate turns. she rides like a twitchy supersport motorcycle...responds to the slightest command. i have ridden her in every condition but waist deep snow and she will ride thru anything. I did manage to get her in snow at least a foot deep and i didn't even have to move my bindings back she just sailed on thru. i don't worry too much on flat spots either as she coasts thru those as well when before i'd have to rely on my skier friends for assistance no matter how fast i'd start off going. edge hold is excellent, so excellent i find that i turn alot more just because i like how it feels. effortless air on jumps and landings feel good but aside from that i don't do much in terms of the park because i'm old and it takes me so much longer to recover these days. with that being said, i'm so very thankful that this board is so light :) it's easy on the leg when riding the lift or even carrying it around and what not. haha i'm small so yea carrying heavy things is sometimes too much for my twig like arms.
so, if you are a control freak speed demon this board is for you. my only caveat would be that she is not forgiving at all. when you're tired or feeling lazy and not in top form she will let you know that that is unacceptable by throwing you down the mountain. Even in that she is a reliable ride through and through.
