Headed up Sunday!
I'm thinking about calling work off Saturday too.

From the vids I've watched it looks awesome..There's some pretty steep terrain there. It's been a white since I've rode up a god damn T-bar though. I'm sure I'll look like a fool!

Went Friday for opening day. The morning was pretty good. Some weird crusty pow to ride. Not the champagne pow Castle is known for. At around 2 pm they opened the red chair to access the top of the mountain. The steeper stuff was meh, just ok. They didn't have the chutes open which, in my opinion, defines it as my favorite mountain. They undoubtedly didn't open the chutes due to avalanch prone snow. Some of the stuff that was open was slightly sketchy.

Cannot wait to return on a real pow day when the chutes are open. No place in the world like it under those conditions.:eusa_clap:

We did one lap on Red Chair on opening day, and it was the run of the day by far! Mega wind crust for about the first half of the run, then we found a more sheltered area and it was boot to knee deep (on top of anything from firm base to bedrock, hit a few rocks that day). Since it was our first time there I have no idea where we actually rode, but looking at the map I'd guess we were close to "OK Corral". We stayed pretty far skier's right coming down from the closed gate to the Chutes.

Can't wait to head back on a pow day when there's better coverage.
