Board repair

So I do all my own waxing and ptex minor stuff but this week at bachy my base got chewed to bits by volcanic shark teeth. I'm having trouble with a clean cut of my ptex fixes. Anybody have any good techniques for cutting the ptex flush? When I use a blade it tends to pull a bit up. Yeah it will fill with wax but only to a certain degree. Cheers.

I sharpen up a wood chisle...polish sharp...and shave it off flush...almost and fill in the rest with wax.

I also use a little bottle propane torch to soften the edges of the wound and then immediately flow in the ptex. Then let it cool a bit but still abit warm and then shave with the wood chisle....then wax as usual. Idk if that is right...but has worked so far for me.

That torch idea sounds smart. Imagine it helps bonding a lot. Thanks. I have a cheese greater dry wall tool for bigger holes but doesn't benefit the long stingy fixes.

when mine got bad i did the ptex myself then took it to get a base sanding, just the sanding, then took it from there
