As I've gotten older, I've found that my body cannot take nearly the abuse its used to (obvious fact, I know). In fact, its been these past two years where I've seen a drastic decline in my ability to bounce back from general-snowboarding ailments. It used to be when I took a hard fall, I'd be out of commissioning for half a day to a day MYABE, now this is turning into weeks and even months. My most recent crash gave me a pretty nasty bout of whiplash over a month ago, and I'm still feeling it.
Most of my riding is done on weekends, so I luckily have 4-5 days to recover from any injuries. I try to exercise regularly during the weekdays to keep my endurance and strength up. I'm a huge proponent of stretching and yoga, and most days will try to do some kind of ~20 minute stretch routine to keep me limber.
What do you guys do? I'm not talking about working out for snowboarding, but general preventative maintenance health to prevent those nagging snowboarding injuries.
