Agreed, I had my head checked out as well...better safe than sorry bud

Yeah man I know for sure that was a pretty big fear when I was about to fall asleep. I was so relieved when was I woke up. I read about these stuff a lot, but never could think it could happen to me. No reoccurring headaches like some of you guys out there. Thanks for the concern.

I got a concussion about 3.5 weeks ago. Had a gnarly fall off a jump and felt weird the whole rest of the night and the next day at work. I walked down the hill after I hit, because i was dazed, but rode the whole rest of the night. Dr. said to stay away from any activity with a risk of hitting my head for 3 weeks. Staying off my board that long sucked, but better than permanent brain damage.

I'm looking at helmets now, but probably won't until I start doing a decent amount of park. I am still a beginner/intermediate rider and enjoy just freeriding, and don't have many hard falls just riding around.

Damn thats crazy. Def looking into a helmet after reading that. I got one last week. Caught my heelside. Thought I was gonna puke for like 2 hours. Dialated pupils, dizzy, tired. Slept by my GF so she could wake me up every couple hours.......... She didn't. Chick goes out like a light.

Glad I I didn't have to ride down in those rescue baskets.

looks like I have to take it easy for the next few weeks. I hear serious concussions aren't anything to joke about. I'm totally looking at helmets right now. I learned my lesson; probably won't try to snowboard alone much more. I don't know what would have happen if I drove alone.

On the bright side, I just saw that sierrasnowboard sale thread and I just picked up the 2009 Flow NXT AT bindings.
good to hear on the flows, i love mine...get a helmet i cracked a helmet and my head didnt hurt at all. went out and bought another one the next day so i will always have a backup when this is replaced by red..

Yeah I'm pretty convinced with all these first hand experiences from you guys. Not gonna cheap out on one of these. I was never planning to get one until maybe I hit the park, but it looks like i'll be wearing on regularly now. Thanks for the input guys.

Helmets are definately a great thing. Do remember that they won't necessarily prevent one though. I got a concussion last January, and I definately noticed that is has affected my day to day life. I can no longer hold a consistent train of thought, my speech is slurred some days, and so on and so forth. It sucks.

This last saturday, i took a fall that landed my head against the ground really bad. Im not sure it was a concusion as I have never had one but that crap sucked. i KNOW I recieved whiplash. My neck was so sore for days, I had to lift my own head up with my hand to get out of bed.

I did buy a helmet the next day. It wont be here for a week. So I wont be riding for a week.

All joking aside, that is no good. How did it happen, if you don't me asking?
