TBI ( Traumatic Brain Injury ) Lots of good info coming out in regards to TBI. Concussions do fall under TBI. I could go on forever an in-depth about TBI but bottom line long term affects do not look good and the long long term affects are not totally known.

ANother quick note *** Its not if you get a concussion it WHEN you will get one *** with the sport it's only time before you knock your grape off of good ol mother earth. A concussion does not even have to be loss of consciousness, a slight headache can be enough of a jolt to cause a brain injury. What causes the damage is your jelly like brain matter wackin back n forth on yo hard ass skull.

HELMET - may not be the cure all but hey it may asorb that one fall that could cause you serious damage.

I always wear a helmet, always have always will. I don't want to take the risk.

I've been looking around for a helmet since I ate it a few weekends back. I don't think I got a concussion but my neck was killing me and my head throbbed for a bit. Too bad my local shop was out of every helmet that fit me except a hideous bright red Smith helmet. Might have to wait until next season just to get a black/graphite colored one -_-

I almost feel naked with out now. I bought the Audex helmet so I can just rock out on the slopes and still feel protected. I had had a few concusions from BMX and Football in the past and I can tell you that it is not something that I want again. So I wear a hlemt all the time now. I don't even think twice about. Just plug the ipod in and go.

Ok, real quick like. I have been involved in sports/activities in which head trauma is a risk for the majority of my life. I have never worn a helmet snowboarding; until last night. I've had one in my car that my GF made me buy for about 2 months and for some reason I decided to wear it. So, my first trip through the park I hit some mellow jumps a dork around a bit and then come down to this box (for all you wawa goers out there the box down by the lift). I've hit this box before, but never in the current setup which is higher than it has been. Pop on with no issue, but all of the sudden I stood up and <ohshit> leaned back </ohshit>. This of course launched me horizontally into the night. I have had a multitude of motorcycle, skateboard, and car crashes, but I have never slammed my head like I did when I hit the snice. Weird luck? Not sure, but I do know if I weren't wearing that lid I would be eating through a straw this morning.

To sum up: helmet now permanent and big props to my better half for looking out for my dumb ass.
