I've been asleep since I got home yesterday. I ate it pretty bad on the slopes. The problem is I don't remember much from yesterday. I remember driving to tahoe and my first two runs, but its a blur after that. I don't even know how I fell or got to the lodge. My memories are in pieces after that hour. My goal for the day was to practice riding mostly switch for the day. My friend told me I was able to ride down the slopes myself, but I don't even remember that. Glad I I didn't have to ride down in those rescue baskets.
looks like I have to take it easy for the next few weeks. I hear serious concussions aren't anything to joke about. I'm totally looking at helmets right now. I learned my lesson; probably won't try to snowboard alone much more. I don't know what would have happen if I drove alone. On the bright side, I just saw that sierrasnowboard sale thread and I just picked up the 2009 Flow NXT AT bindings. Last edited by vietfrost; 02-03-2009 at 11:43 AM. |

Dude had 2 real bad concussions out in tahoe when I first started riding and probably 2 minor ones since then. Recently I started riding with a helmet .. Trust me I took 2 nice shots to the grap and walked away without issues, totally thumbs up for helmets !

Today I saw a shred-head walking with a cane, he couldn't have been older than 25. In 10 years you could be as cool as that, or even steezy enough to have someone help you wipe the drool off your lip and assist with going to the bathroom. I also knew a guy who had a concussion so bad that he is kinda slow now, takes a second or two to reply to you, this was despite wearing a helmet. Concussions are serious business, i've had two before. Both from my DH racing days, the Doctor insisted on a CAT scan both times to make sure there was no serious bruising. |

Did you goto the Dr.? If not, you should. Head-shots aren't good to mess with. My dad had a good friend who was in a motorcycle wreck on the way to work one day. He slid out on some wet train tracks, and went down going only about 15mph. He felt fine. Bike had minor damage. Went to work, and said he had a slight head ache. Went home that night, and went to bed. He never woke up again. Died in his sleep from brain swelling. Sure, it is a freak accident, but they do happen. Sometimes it's better to get your shit checked-out, before you do.
