im using a hitachi DVD/HDD camcorder it has decent picture quality but its a pain in the ass to import to the computer because i like to record on the hardrive but then you have to dub it to the DVD and do all this stuff before you can import.

if you have the money get a cannon vixia HD camera i have seen a lot of videos shot with those and everyone i know that has on loves it.
