Default FreeSkis

Hey guys, a little bit off topic, but hope someone has some experience.

I have failed in convincing my wife to switch to snowboards. So....since I want to go snowboarding, and I want her along with me, she has requested her own set of skis.

I was looking to order from Blue Tomato Shop (so I can maybe squeeze in a new board for myself as well), but they only carry freeskis. She can go down a hill but she's not exactly intermediate either. So I was hoping someone can give me some insight whether picking up freeskis will affect her positively or negatively? and as well as some sizing advice, hopefully a chart?

Leaving her at home will affect both of you positively, especially if she doesn't wanna go.

Married guy knows.

Nothing wrong with having a little ski bunny along for the ride ...infact some are quite good and faster than boarders. Just get her some big fatty twins like some k2 Misdirected or Surface Labs and she could be hauling ass and having fun. My daughter is 120#, 5'4" and been riding the 181 Labs last year and this; 3 years ago on Misdirecteds 169's...and throw on some Marker Schizo or Dukes and she'll be ready to blow past your slow ass.

Thanks for the info, I am still in the though process of traditional alpines, which would be a little below her height, so for her at 5'9, 110#, she should be using somehting like 160 alpines, but it seems freeskis are much longer, so I will need to change my thought process.

Oh, and she wants to come to the hills with me, she just doesnt want to relearn everything on a single board.

Get her the updated shaped twins fattys....even with some rocker and they will ride shorter but will have the fattness, rocker and shape to float and turn in pow. Not a skier...but my alot of friends are and note they are much easier to turn and float both on groomer and in pow. If she likes blasting groomers perhaps go with camber instead of rocker. But she should demo some twin fatties.
