I like being able to hear what's going on around me, like someone screaming that they're about to hit me or my board hitting a patch of ice.

i always listen to music, found the best way is to only use one ear bud at a volume is low but loud enough to be heard on the lift while not drowing out schwick schwick schwickty schwick sounds, Of long hard board penetrating virgin snow.

If I'm riding in the shity midwest hills where I live by I don't ride with music because the runs are 10 seconds but when I ride out west I love riding with music because your not on the lift 90% of the time.

I usually put my music on but keep it quiet so that I can hear my board but also hear the music when I'm on the lift.
