Are Skiers and Snowboarders Friends Now or Not Really?

If not, why do you think that's so and will they ever get along?

This question really depends on who you're talking to and what mountain you're talking about. Some skiers and snowboarders get along with each other, while others don't. Some mountains are very skier friendly, while others are boarder friendly.

I think it depends on how old the skiers are. In my experience, older skiers still tend to dislike snowboarders - especially at resorts that up till recently didn't allow shred heads. Younger skiers seem to mostly get along with boarders and try to emulate the fashion etc.

With that said, I've ridden the lift with younger skiers that spent the whole time mocking snowboarders...Just like I've ridden the lifts with older skiers that seemed genuinely interested in learning to snowboard at some point in their lives.

At the little home hill, folks are friendly towards one another and they are often admiring of the other species; but we have apparently been at it longer than anyone else. Also there are becoming more kids that cross over and do both. Its interesting that its the old skiers that go to snowboarding and the young kids that started snowboarding are changing it up and take to skiing. You don't usually see older snowboarders go to skiing unless they had skied all along or before snowboarding.

The only people I ride with are skiers and they love to tease me about how I board and when am I going to take ski lessons etc. Its really not like personal they are just joking, but I dont think that they will ever stop. Although two people can play that game and I make fun of them when they screw up

((specially when they do spins, I think it looks super sloppy with the poles and skiis crossed ughh gross))

(((haha just my opinion though, I'm sure its fun)))

[oh yeah and they're boots look gay and make too much noise]

All four of my buddies ski.

I find that skiers our age are more mature then snowboarders our age at our mountain (15-18) But obviously thats only my experience, and obviously I have tons of chill snowboarder friends. It's actually mainly just the young kids that are annoying.

I find that we have a lot of 12-16 year old punks who think they are the next shaun white or danny kass, give people lots of shit when they can't back it up in the park. We even have kids that can back it up, and when they do something sick and you compliment them by saying something like "Nice dude!" or, "That was awesome" they just have the whole "yeah I know" attitude and look down on you. Really annoying.

Old skiers really hate snowboarders wherever I ride for what it seems. I find they look for reasons to either yell or give us dirty looks. Not all though, have run into some pretty chill older dudes.

I've never had a problem with skiers, the ones I usually hang out with are chill, but seriously the 12-15 year olds that I just described who ride snowboards are annoying as fuck. I don't know where they learn that it's okay to be a dick like that to other people..

I generally just don't care, to be honest. I'm never a dick to somebody because they are doing something different... unless they start it, haha. As far as skiers go, most of them are really cool if you are cool to them. We're all going down the mountain on some wood and fiberglass, so as long as you don't act like a dick to them, they're just like us, haha. I'll never understand this "void" we have between us, but my older brother skis and so do his friends so when I go with them I get shit for snowboarding, but who cares? It's all in good fun.

Depends on the person, not if they're sliding down a mountain on one or two sticks.
