The FAA owns the skies

No more remote control.

Hmnnn,

Haven't watched the vid link yet, but I recently saw an interview on some news channel with an faa somebody. The gist of the responses he gave seemed to imply the FAA was OK with making regs that would clear the way and "allow" for personal drones.

Iir, He said something about anything under 400 ft was fair & open game and not really their problem! Guess I miss heard him. :dunno:

Guess he was talking shit, eh? (..I will check link when Ive got a wifi connection. Phone wont load yt for shit without it.) ;)

I was listening to NPR this morning coming home from work and I heard the FAA is giving cease and desists orders to thousands of commercial drone operations saying they have rights to every part of the sky over the US.:eusa_clap:

Then I saw that clip and can't imagine what it could look like on bluebird pow days in a few years. Wild sheeeet maiyn.

Commercial Drones are a different matter. Any flight operations getting paid for the use of drones would need FAA approval. That was mentioned in the interview I saw.

As a Photographer, I have dealt with a similar issue. Try taking a photo in any National park with a telephoto lens mounted on a tripod. A ranger will be on you in a hot second to ask you for your commercial filming permits. You have to prove to them you aren't part of some film studio or getting paid to take the pictures. .

Ridiculous either way.

Imagine if everyone who has a gopro now had one of these. The slopes will be utter chaos. Then add to that all the people with the cheap gopro knockoffs that work even less reliably. It'll be like Independence Day when they destroy the mother ship and they all come crashing into each other.

ESPN went over this during an episode of OTL a week or so ago. If it's for commercial use it needs to be approved if it isn't then you don't need to worry about it.

It was discussing the drones for sports practices (specifically football)

You just stole that scenario from the Yogi Bear live action movie! It's how all the Rangers meet the hot chicks, asking to see their permits. Hey....wait, is there more to this story you aren't telling us??

Battle drones. I would want my drone to have little water guns that would shoot oil to the other drones near by.

Hahaha! I wish.

On a more serious note, I'm more concerned about the fact that you've actually seen the Yogi Bear live action movie!!
