I have recently made a short snowboard film. The film was recorded in the Netherlands at Snowworld, Zoetermeer.
Please, enjoy at: YouTube - Snowworld |

Wasn't bad...Here what I think it needed though.
-Intro Was a little long. -When you zoom in, you follow the rider. Be "slower" than the rider. -Keep the camera stationary with minimal movement for in park shots. Some people get sick of the little jitters. If you want to pan, keep it little and make sure you have a fluid tripod/ cable cam/ helo. Thats if those were available. Additonal panning can be done post production in the editor. -Add slow motion seens...well variable speeds. Regular on approach->Flash Transition->Slow Motion for trick->Flash Transition->Slower than regular but faster than slow motion. -Stationary shots. Maybe just point the camera zoomed at the lip and have someone due a trick. For example YouTube - That's It That's All | Best Clip | HQ Remastered at 0:23. He hits the kicker but the camera doesn't move. All i can think of at the moment, but it wasn't bad at all. |

Thanks for the comment. Nice to read.
‘Forum Snake Sessions’ is the same location as my recordings. I do agree with you ‘SMDSkate’. There is a lot of room for improvements, such as - The angels of the tricks and close-up shots from faces (instead of profile shots); - Camera dynamics and - From a editors perspective (e.g. rhythm and adding transition fx). Overal I think the film lacks of rhythm and some shots (grapically) do not match. This effect could be reduced by the above mentioned. The editing is done in Final Cut Pro on the Mac. Still learning to work with Adobe After Effects and Livetype for example. Hopefully, by the end of this week I will have uploaded my next short film on to Youtube (kevinvanbeek1985). But this time it is not about snowboarding. Last edited by kevinvanbeek; 03-11-2009 at 06:55 AM. Reason: . |
