Board sharing platform

Hey

Help needed to create something for the boarding community!
We are two Danish boarders working on a start-up (www.YoooWe.com) and a Master thesis about a platform that enables you to meet local boarders around the world through renting or renting out your boarding gear. We really appreciate if you check out our 1 min video(YoooWe - YouTube) and help us co-create the platform by answering our short survey: https://survey.enalyzer.com/?pid=n4c5n8q8
Every like and sharing of our Facebook page is also very much appreciated. www.facebook.com/YoooWe

Cheers
Rasmus and Mads

Love the icon!
I guess we missed some of the rules

How can we get some community insight without violating the rules?

Do you mean the concept or the posting?

We would love to hear their experience and why it didn't work out

Concept. But just curious, what if somebody you rented your board to broke it or had some nasty core shot. Will you, as middleman, provide insurance for the renter and peace of mind for the owner?

And the other point. Most of the boarders care for their gear and it's kinda personal. I'd gladly give my board to ride to somebody I know but I would never rent my gear to somebody who will beat the shit out of the deck.

Good comments! - Thanks. There are several possibilities; there could fx. be insurance as you said, a deposit or maybe both..

About boards being a personal object; we totally agree and that why we wanted ideas from the community. Other sharing sites have ratings, verification processes, meetups, sweet spots and so on... there could be a mutual friend function, it could only be your second board..

Most boarders are young/young adults who have no money for $100-200 deposit. Rental shops offer $10 insurance.

Congratulations you created this:

Spinlister and Snowboard Icon Dave Lee Partner

to Promote Peer-to-Peer Snow Rentals

Signal Snowboards Founder to Help Market Peer-to-Peer Snowboard & Ski Rentals

SANTA MONICA, Calif. - Nov. 19, 2013 - Spinlister, the world leader in peer-to-peer bicycle rentals, has partnered with Signal Snowboards Founder Dave Lee to raise awareness for its upcoming ski and snowboard rental launches. Lee has been tapped by Spinlister to make introductions to the snowboard community by showing the value in renting equipment to and from other enthusiasts on the site and mobile App.

"Dave Lee is a well respected veteran of the snowboarding community and someone that we know can help us make important introductions," said Spinlister CEO Marcelo Loureiro."We also believe in Dave's vision for creating value in the snowboard community and not trying to get the most profit possible from your fans."

Signal Snowboards will help publicize the benefits of Spinlister to its social media community of over 100,000 enthusiasts. They will leverage its professional team, social media channels, website and distribution network to help sign people up for Spinlister.

"I love sharing, that's what life is all about for me - experiences and adventures - this is the opportunity that Spinlister gives the rider," said Signal Snowboards Founder Dave Lee. "Local knowledge and the board you want to ride can change travel plans for the better. It's the perfect time for a service that allows you to meet like-minded people and share or rent snowboards anywhere in the world."

Traveling with or renting a snowboard, skis or a bike a shop can be a costly adventure with inadequate equipment. By using the peer-to-peer model, users can typically expect to rent a better quality board at a much lower price. Another added benefit is that renters can show users the best ski runs in the area so that they can experience it like a local.

Users can currently list their Snowboards and Skis for rentals, at no charge, on http://www.Spinlister.com or through its iOS and Android App. Users can currently list their skis and snowboards at http://www.spinlister.com/snow and Spinlister will be launching rental availability in the next few months.

About Spinlister

Launched on April 1, 2012, Spinlister is an online marketplace that allows users to rent bicycles - with snowboard and ski rentals launching in the next few months - from individuals in more than 50 countries. By creating an online bicycle rental marketplace with built-in security features and a database of user reviews, Spinlister has won the trust of communities of cyclists all over the globe.
