Spring Riding - Snowboarding Forum

So, yesterday was one of my worst experience riding to date. It was icy, a lot of steezy snow punks were out yelling stuff at beginners and giving everyone crap and for some reason my groove was off. I just couldnt do anything, from rails to jumps I was cursed. I blame it on Friday the 13th.

However today I got to ride at a new section of my mountain which was opened this year and had the most fun Ive ever had. Today even beat when I went out to CO in December, mostly. It was super soft, pretty slow unfortunately, but there were so many side hits, the park was incredibly fun and I could puddle skip because it was 53 degrees. I had an incredible time just cruising down some narrow blacks finding these stashes of slush and popping off them while carving. Every part of me was wet though, gloves and boots soaked through.

So does anyone else have any fun times riding during the spring vs. the rest of winter, I know alot of people here dont finish their season for a while but Im going to reminisce early because my hill doesnt guarantee being open after next weekend

spring riding is the shit, most fun time of the year imo even with weak conditions.

went tonight, it was about 50 here today during the day so it was really slushy, but it was super fun, i like when the snow is a little more forgiving.

Spring riding is the only time the snow isn't rock hard here in MN haha. It is bittersweet though knowing that the final days of the season are extremetly close.

My hill is possibly opening next weekend if there is snow on the ground but the way temps have been it doesn't look good. I spent the last 4 days riding and it has been great. Although my legs were rubber today.

Spring riding has been great. It's almost more enjoyable cause I don't have to have as much gear on to stay warm. Staying dry is another thing.

this is true, I was riding at welch the last two days. and I rode the back bowl for the first time yesterday and it was so much fun

ya spring jam comps in wisconsin are pretty fun
everyone hucks huge, sketchy tricks because its so soft and you just get to mess around
the only thing that really get me mad is the lack of speed atleast doing the day i can never get enough speed to hit the bigger jumps
but as soon as it starts getting dark the snow gets soo much faster
