if u r travelling with a group of friends, its cheaper to rent a car and drive.
we rented a mid size car from ez-rent-a-car for 60 bucks a day.

i checked with a shuttle company before my trip to loveland...and they are not cheap.
they asked for 200 bucks for 4 person per trip.

[strike]someone did told me about a train from denver to copper mountain tho...[/strike]

No train from Denver to Copper Mountain. There is the Ski Train from Denver to Winterpark. $45 round trip same day only though. Then again that's still pretty cheap. You could get two tickets one for your arrival day and one for departure.

Problems with that. The ski train only runs Thurs-Sun at the height of the season. Departure is at 4 or 4:15. So if you have a flight to catch, it had better be a late one.

Amtrack also stops in the Winterpark area so that could be an option too.

Rental car is generally your best bet.

Rental car. Depending on what size you want, you can get a car for $25-30 per day.

if you're really looking to go there on the cheap then take the train to winter park and stay at the winter park hostel (Winter Park Lodging Colorado. Inn, Hotel &*Hostel near Winterpark Ski Resort*& Rocky Mountain National Park. Inn, Accommodations) its cheap and pretty nice - not your typical european hostel. then you can get multi-day passes to winterpark and maryjane - both of which have more than enough terrain to keep you busy for a couple of days.

grab some cheap beers and awesome eats at Randis Irish Saloon. the ribs are so good they gonna make you wanna slap yo mama!
