Default Olympics - good for the sport or bad?

I don't know if having snowboarding in the Olympics is such a good idea because suddenly there's a lot of pressure for kids and plenty of media to exploit them - besides, snowboarding doesn't need to be an Olympic sport to be cool... whatta think?

The Olympics is kind of how you know your hobby has "made it" as a sport. It validates it in the eyes of many people, and who knows? Maybe the middle class mom's will let their little kids snowboard if it's a real olympic sport!

Ha! That's true. Last time I went I saw someone who could be my grandpa. He fell even more than I did, it was awesome. And then there was a whole family, mom, dad, and three little kids. The mom was a skiier, but the rest of them were cool

I'm in favor of anything that gives snowboarding more exposure. Since snow boarding has become an olympic sport, I can suddenly find it on Cable much more than before. Of course, watching these excellent snowboarders reminds me of how little skill I really possess.

No kidding!

For my part, I kind of think it should be. I mean, it is a sport; why not treat it like one? As far as the media...I don't think much of them. :-)

I think it should be part of the olympics. It can indeed be considered a sport after all, and it gives snowboarding some recognition other than just a hobby.

There are some odd games in the Olympics... at least this is fun to watch! What's the one where they try to slide the stones onto a target? Try watching that for hours.
