Enough snow to board?:

How much natural snow do you need to be able to ride?I'm thinking like 4 or 5 inches.Oh it would be mostly over grassy fields with some rocks that are just on the surface.

It started snowing today and they are calling for 6 to 8 inches by Wed. morning:D

I got 5 inches of pure slush today. Built a kicker and tore it up. Literally... I need to just face the fact that the season is over :(

As long as it isn't slush, then it should cover up most stuff...for backyard ops, your good.

lots of things to factor into that question such as degree of slope, evenness of terrain etc.

out here we can generally open with about 30 inches at brighton, but at snowbird in the next canyon over they tend to need a little more because its steeper and has more rugged terrain.

If u want to carve your gonna need about a foot or so of snow and a steep hill, but if u just want to hit a rail, box, or jump in your yard all u need is a couple of inches.

Yah thats all I was thinking too' like a 16 box and a pipe. We do have 200+ acres I wonder if the wind will drift any anto the trails. It is supposed to blow 30mph. tonight:dunno:

We have like 6 miles of trails and about 5 acres of field and the rest is woods. But the property sits above 5000 ft. so we get some crazy weather. They will call for a dusting and we get 12+ inches:eek:So we never know what to plan for.

I would say it depends on whether you have a rock board or not. If you care about your board, I'd say you want at least 1-2 feet of a base to ride on.
