Sue for what? The law in Canada doesn't work like that. She can only sue for actual monetary loss. Unless she somehow lost money through his actions(like a deposit for the trip) then she doesn't get SQUAT!

There is no such thing as punitive damages in Canadian Tort Law. I'm really shocked and disappointed that the courts didn't laugh her out of the building.

Nevermind, this happened in Quebec where they have a different legal system. Assholes

Nowadays we have to put up with amazing teen role models like Miley Cyrus, who pose nearly naked at 15. Given this, I find it hard to swallow that a parent who catches his teen being an idiot, as all teens are whether they realize it or not, and punishes her in a way I think is very fitting could possibly be made out as the bad guy. A responsible dad trying to protect his daughter and he gets slapped on the wrist for it. Pathetic.

Fortunately, rather than making the dad look like the bad guy, the whole event shows us how broken our society can be. Pedophiles can reach your kids without ever coming near them. The internet can be extremely dangerous for little kids who don't know what they are doing. I hope this kind of crap doesn't embolden more kids to think they can get away with being internet sluts.

There are cases alike to this in the states with just as much of a dumbfounded scenario as this. Case to point, it goes mainly with the borderline of child abuse for child services of the state to step in versus discipline of your kid. In this article, this is absolutely ridiculous and one of the main reasons society is on a one way trip to hell.

So we can't even discipline our kids in a non-violent manner now and still get called out on it, brilliant bullshit. First off, I'm not against spanking for physical aspects, physical abuse is another matter. Secondly this article was a non physical altercation and still the parent is deemed at fault. Thirdly, the government and all those child services need to keep their nose out of the matter as they do NOT have a say in how we raise our kids so long we're not damaging the welfare of the child. And the welfare of a child has nothing to do with what a child feels they "want" to do if we disagree. They are our kids, not the facking state's nor gov'ment.

Might as well pop a baby out of the womb and give it over to the fricken state to stamp an ownership marking on their forehead to claim as their own with the way society tends to be heading time over time
