i did it once at camp gaw hill in new jersey, the lift operator was making out with his girlfriend and didnt even notice, ill never do it again though as another couple kids who did it at camp gaw the next year when i was there got arrested for jumping off the lift. and it was really really easy, lift the bar drop like 8 feet to the snow, bind in and ride down like normal, gave me a huge adrenaline rush too, lol. good times

They are designed to do that, but you are talking about a lot of mass. It's not foolproof and some of the older fixed grip lifts may not have these protections. Overall, jumping off of a lift is a stupid thing to do. I can think of about 999,999,999,9999 things I would find more fun at the resort, than jumping off of a lift because it seems "cool"...

YES, U KNOW CAMP GAW TOO!!! ITS THE SMALLEST HILL IN THE WORLD and and the ski patrol adn staff sucks so bad. they pay no attention to anything. only good thing about camp gaw is its got a terrain park and is close to my house. So if you've been to camp gaw, u know the doubles lift that doesnt stop at the midstation and is in the center of the hill. at the top of that one me and my friend jumped off.
