this is a cool concept for people who have limited access to the tools/materials/means to build their own from scratch....

I wish I had more fine motor skills when it comes to my hands and tools as this looks like it would be a really fun project. As my father used to say to me, "you're as handy as a bear cub".

Hopefully some of our handyman types around here will take on such a project and post their results for us all to see. Go at it gang. There was a thread around here about building your dream board. Well it looks like your ship has come in.

Cool concept, just sucks you'd be without edges. It'd be a pure pow surfer.

I agree with you on that....but with a router, some edge material and time you could instal your own (kinda like doing an edge repair on a LARGE scale).

Definitely cool... but the safety conscious construction professional in me who works with lots of nasty products (including fiberglass) they kinda understate the dangers of working with fiberglass. One time exposure is no big deal and will just cause irritation to the skin/lungs and small breathing problems, but prolonged exposure to the stuff has been thought to be linked with lung cancer.

+1 on fiberglass
prolonged exposure to this stuff (American Diet) is thought to be linked to cancer.

Everything causes cancer, even snowboarding. Shouldn't do it.

The lack of edges is what sucks about this thing. Pretty much eliminates a lot of east coast and mid west riders because of the terrain their limited to.
