I went on a long weekend trip snowboarding with a few of my friends and this is what happend.

I am a silver member at the Marriot properties so I booked us there on points( 20,000 per night level 4 hotel )When we got there I went in alone and checked in and they could not have been nicer to me (like always). So I go and park and we take in our bags well this time past the desk we got some nasty looks.

After being in our room less than 15 minutes we went to the mountain for the night session. When we got back we brought in our boards and the looks turned into whispers, no big deal I have thick skin. When we got to our room there was these two little girls in the hall running all over the place. It did'nt bother us yet because we still had to clean up and get settled.

Well about 11 pm we get a call from the front desk telling us to be quiet that it is late and I said that it is not us it's the people next to us and she hangs up.15 minutes later the phone rings again and as rude as she can tells us no more noise again I said not us and she said well I will be coming up to check.I said good because we are tired of the noise too. Then came the knock on the door mind you it is almost midnight and she says to me they said it was not them and she better not be called again.

The next morning I ask to see manager and they say he is not there and they will give msg.so after two weeks and 4 calls no response.

All I want is my points returned and for them to see what they did was wrong.

bitchy people are bitchy.
Most people don't think of snowboarders that way anymore, but you will always have idiots. shitsux

In your case, I would find a number for Marriott headquarters and ask to speak to someone higher up. I promise you, nothing gets a hotel managers attention faster than a call from their BOSS' boss...

Only a small, bitter portion of the skiing community who have had bad experiences with snowboarders, and I would be surprised if any of them were unprofessional enough to give some of their valued customers a hard time because they chose the wrong hobby.

Where was this anyway? And what exactly did they say that makes you think you were treated this way just because you snowboard?

If it was really that bad I'd keep contacting them until they get sick of you and just give you enough of what you want to make you go away. I don't know if they'll give you a full refund, but if you frequent their chain of hotels it's in their best interest to fix the situation if they ever want to see you again.

seems more you were just treated wrong because the girl was a dumbass. you should've got her name and all her info and bitched her ass out right then and there. they can't do that if they have no proof. why would they listen to their word and believe them and not yours? i would raise hell and keep going up the chain until i get an satisfactory response. that is unacceptable and i would demand an apology and some compensation for that bullshit response by their "management" since none was available at that time.

It doesn't look to me like it has anything to do with the fact you were snowboarders, sounds to me like it has everything to do with the fact you are a group of young men and people just assumed it was you making the noise.

I don't see where snowboarding even comes into it.

I stay on there properties on average about 40 nights per year. I always have a few of my employees with me. We always have our butts kissed. That night it started out the same way until they saw my friends and our boards. It was'nt one girl it was two at the desk.

The hotel was in Boone NC. And I have the names of the girls and the G.M. so I think the next letter will be higher up.

Stuff like this just pisses me off.

Can't sweat the small stuff like that. I do think it was more in the lines of guys being in the room than snowboarders. Just get the names of the people who spoke to you and take it up with their bosses, and their bosses bosses if need be.

You should have left a steamer in the tub...

But seriously, there is a part of the population that seems to think all snowboarders are running around setting off fire extinguishers etc.

Kanilas,

Thanks for the link there is some good info there:thumbsup:

Things like this normally don't get under my skin but this time I just can't let it go for some reason.

It felt like when you walk into a bank in work clothes and they don't have time for you. But go in dressed up and they can't do enough to help. I guess I'm just sick of poor service with high prices.

It sucks that you get attitude based on how you're dressed, but it's true. From what I've read on that site, blasting the top staff with that usually gets the problem fixed very quickly. I've never had any issues with hotels or anything, but I typically have my board in a bag.

Oh yeah, complain the living hell out of them. I have a few friends who work in the hotel industry, and the one thing they always tell me is to complain if something sucks. Most (good) hotels will try to make nicey-nice and that means free stuff.

Oh, also, tell your cable company you're going to switch services, they'll drop their prices, sometimes drastically. Squeaky wheels really do get the grease.

I tried that with my cable Co. and they told me 198.00 per month was all they could do so I switched to direct tv and now I pay 55.00 for the same package exept now it is almost all HD. But on top of the 55.00 I sill had to keep high speed internet and that runs me 59.00 wich was part of the 198.00.

One month after I dropped the cable they sent me a letter saying that I could have all my services back ( cable, phone, and internet)for 112.00 per month. Now thats a bunch of crap!
