First time snowboarding

I'm going on a ski trip in July and I'm going to try snowboarding. I've never seen snow before so I have no idea what to expect. I'm a pretty keen longboarder and downhill skater and I'm just wondering if that stuff helps with learning to snowboard.

If you guys have any tips for me as well that would be sweet.

Cheers guys,
Nick

What to expect? As for Snowboarding and Skating the only thing thats similiar are the words "Boarding". In all seriousness they are not alike. expect to fall alot and try not to get pissed. Have as much fun with it as possible, cause I can quarantee you will get hooked.

Hmm considering he hasn't seen snow before I'm gonna say he lives in a place without snow, and in saying that he wouldn't want to get hooked on snowboarding. So I suggest don't even do it, Snowboarding is like crack bro once you do it you're addicted and you live in a crackless neighborhood my friend.

I was originally a skier too but I love snowboarding a lot more now. It took me about 2 long days of just falling on my ass and knees before i finally got it down. After you get going its a blast and you learn fast

Take a 30 minute lesson, your body will thank you. Start doing pushups now so your arms will be in good shape to be able to keep getting up for the entire trip
