I'm just curious what are some things to look forward to compared to my sad hills near chicago (our biggest hill is a 700FT vertical in wisconsin) Just kinda wanna get a convo going here on things to look forward to. Think our longest run is 1.5 miles? Takes a solid 2-3 minutes to get down the bottom at full speed. Our normal vertical within a few hours of me is 450-700 FT =/

i have only been to colorado once and let me say. you lucky bastard
i went there 2 seasons ago and I still remember certain things i did and wish i could have done. snowboarding in real mountains is like a whole different sport. and i didnt really realize how good it was until after i got home and remembered how bad everything here is =. things you can look forward too getting lost on the mountain due to nearly endless runs (it happened to me we took like a 30 minute detour ha) over 2 miles above sea level incredibly perfect terrain parks huge and steep bowls filled with powder it really depends on what kindof riding your into but what ever it is your trip wont be long enough to anyone who actually lives in the mountains and rides this stuff everyday you might think im exaggerating but you dont know how much i miss being there Last edited by nitroboarder22; 06-17-2009 at 11:30 PM. |

Well, hopefully you hit it during a good powder cycle. Storm riding is great and the bluebird day that usually follows it can be even better. Just like anywhere though, powder is not guaranteed. You can get skunked just as easily as you can get fantastic conditions. The terrain is still way better but maybe not as much fun. If you like terrain parks and it hasn't been snowing, those will be great.
There will certainly be a lot more mountain to explore and plenty to challenge yourself on. |

We ride at Cascade(460 FT), Devils Head(500 FT) & Granite Peak(700 FT) which is pretty big to us heh. It's just not great boarding out here in chicago/wisconsin area we mainly stick to the parks cuz we have ok parks here, it doesnt take a huge mountain to be good at a park at least heh. I want to go to either steamboat or breckenridge & experince how riding SHOULD be. We call them hills here, not mountains =)
