For a 1, I just use a little bit of upper body twist and as I leave the lip, I pop off my toes (BS) to gain a little more power. When I do a FS 180, I do the same thing, but use a bit of rebound and bounce off the heel edge.
My 3`s are still a bit ugly as I am pre winding too much still. What I need to get the hang of is scisoring my legs more to bring the board around the rest of the way. I am also learning to use a quick edge change at takeoff to really get some rotation going, but the timing is tricky untill you get the feel of it.
