Default High Cascade Adult Summer Camp

Anyone ever been to this camp or any of the other summer snowboard camps for that matter. I'm looking for something that is Adult specific it seems pretty good to advance park riding and would be a cool summer getaway. It's located in MT Hood in Oregon

I have dropped my son off at high cascade for a few weeks every summer for the past 7 or 8 years. it is awesome. I have gone up to their parks, they do a great job. Most of their instructors are the best you can get in the world, it is a highly applied for position.... Seth Hill was my sons coach for 4 years, he is a high level competition rider(just to give you an idea of who instructs there).

I have talked to the people in the adult camps and they all are having a blast when I see them. I am not in to park so I have never even contemplated doing it.

Hope you aren't thinking about doing it this year...there is no snow up there, they're going to be screwed.

Also, it gets VERY crowded. Seems like they have more traffic in summer than they do in winter.

Yeah I wasn't sure about that either. From what I understand they run the camps on higher elevations of the mountain so I wasn't sure if they were going to run the earlier sessions or not, anyone know for sure? With the temperatures warming up on the east coast the end is approaching quick and it sounds awesome for an early summer getaway.

Looks like Woodward runs a couple at Copper late spring early summer anyone know anything about there ?

Don't go to anything after session 3 or 4 at the latest. The crowd is mainly at the lift. The ski racers hit their lanes up high and go around any parks, the park camp kids hit their private parks, the public park is usually on the bottom run out until their is no snow and their may not be any snow down there this year to ride to the bottom...... The HCSC park is not bad for a crowd, even the Windells(HCSC owns them now) kids cant go in there. You want to see a crowded park, go to Breck or Keystone.....

We go hike their parks in the afternoon, some years they are great, some years they have minimal snow. They should have decent snow this season. The cool thing about copper is they have a really nice barn with trampolines, ramps/foampits and skate parks. We still prefer HCSC over Woodward at Copper because it is a real mountain experience in summer up on Hood with a pretty long run down(relatively speaking).

Thanks for the info I recently started getting more into park now that my girlfriend is riding she really enjoys it. Also there are some days in The Poconos that you can get bored of the same runs pretty quick so it keeps things interesting.

Ok good to know thanks for all the info guys. Yeah some of the videos looked pretty crowded but nothing can be worse than some of the east coast mountains on a saturday and I have put up with those crowds for years. I'll probably contact Cascade first but if conditions aren't looking good Copper seems like a good option as well. Depends on when I go my girlfriend might want to as well but she is a Teacher so if I book it earlier she may not be able to get off.

The HCSC adult camp is pretty solid and high end. They offer a lot of cool things, but snow is going to be the issue this year.

Woodward will have snow, they will have a good amount. The adult camp is fun and they do a lot to cater to you guys. My suggestion if you did Woodward adult camp is rent a condo instead of staying in the EDGE, that place is gross and limits your "recreational" activities off snow.

Thanks for the tip BA, I will look into booking a longer trip if I'm staying offsite to see some other parts of area as well should be a good time. I'll probably book Woodward for this year and then sometime down the road do HCSC when they get better snow totals.
