lol, white people eating odang... no offense, it's a new concept to me. +1 on the chili otherwise. i'm partial to anything that involves red meat + potato.

[QUOte with some Soju(Rice Vodka)[/quote]

The one thing I learned in Korea is that you have to be really hard up for a drunk to drink Soju (everclear cut to 20 proof with H2O). I've got a bottle in the cabinet with the seal barely broken, maybe it gets better with age.
The Korean ramen is to die for especially the one with all the red chiles on the label. My daughter sends a care package regularly loaded with different korean Ramen.

Traynor have you tried the grilled baby octopus at the truck stops. Everytime I ordered one I got a fried burrito with something sweet inside. Everytime I ordered a corndog I got the same thing.
I can't figure out how "give me one of the corndogs" ends up translated in sweet fried burrito.

octopus = "oh jeeng uh"
and yes, it is delicious.
and for additional deliciousness, "goh chu jahng" for the chili paste

i always thought soju was rice "wine"... given its low alcohol content. either way it's disgusting.

Xenter I could have used a translator but that would have ttaken the fun out of the experience. You can't find any Korean restaraunts in this part of the world and I am dieing for some Kimchi. I really developed a taste for it. I liked the dining out where you cooked your food at the table and wrapped everything in leaf lettuce. My old legs had a hard time making the 1 1/2hr. sitting on the floor though.

Odang is freaking awesome Xenster...

The cooked Octopus is great although I prefer in the Hot Chili sauce that is not as thick as Gochujong...

The red ramen with the chilis on it is freaking awesome... its one of my favorite things to eat when too lazy to cook.

I've been here for 20 months now and I can't stop eating the Korean food... Too bad im going to San Antonio after hear to work on my Masters degree... At least I will get to eat Mexican food again which will be nice though....

So yeah when im in the states I tend to Eat menudo or Chorizo after I go Snowboarding which are both pretty awesome.

Ooohhh, how I miss Chilli (been cutting back on meat for the last 8 months)...

I'm a food lover, so there really isn't much I wouldn't eat after a day of boarding... as long as its hot, and there's a pint of Leffe Blond on the side, we're good
