Shipping a snowboard from US to Canada

Can anyone who has done it fairly recently recommend a way to ship a board from the US to Canada? My sister recently tried via USPS but it seems like they don't (no longer?) accept items over 46" in length. How much should we expect it to cost (ball park figure). The board is 149cm. Thanks.

I had a board shipped from The Boardroom in Canada a few months ago. They used Canada Post, it spent a few days in customs and was finally delievered by USPS.

Did you get it at a crazy deal or something? You should expect to pay pretty close to what you can buy it in Canada. At least that has been my experience with buying stuff from the states. Got some goggles off WM or a similar site for $50 USD and that was when our dollars were close to par. After customs and all that I ended up paying $90 CAD when they retail for $110 here.

I ordered it before I confirmed my trip to Canada. It was a heavily discounted board from last season, and I figured that in the worst case scenario, I might undo the discount but probably wouldn't make a loss. At any rate, it seems like the staff my sis spoke to made a mistake regarding the rules, and the board can be shipped via USPS to Canada for a lot less than UPS. Remains to be seen how much I will be stung in customs, but it should still be a decent deal.
