Default New Rider here!

I'm in Wa. and this is my second season snowboarding and the forth of this month will be like my fifth time out. I've been reading some posts on here and there is a lot of goo info on this site. Anyone else in Wa.?

I just had a question about speed. When i'm on a run I feel like I'm going way to fast and I always make really sharp turns to slow down. If you dont bother trying to slow down, will you end up going a 100mph down the hill? or is a boards top speed nothing to worry about? Am I just being a pussy? I dont want to end up breaking my neck because I was going to fast, but I want to go fast safely. any tips?

You will reach a terminal velocity obviously..... It's based upon your weight, wax, and base of the board.

Try making loooooong and slow gradual turns by staying up on an edge slightly when at high speeds and you can adjust your speed slightly and keep yourself more stable since you up on an edge.

And ya your kinda being a pussy but going out of your comfort zone and freaking out can cause you to overreact and a concussion can happen, or worse.

i think the record is like a 125 mph, and thats in one of those unisuits with the super helmet and a 23423423 foot board. I would have a hard time imagining you doing anything more than say 45
