Yeah, I'm basically over competition snowboarding. It all looks the same to me, I can't relate to it. I'd rather watch back country footage or edge control edits. But hey, if it funds the industry then so be it.
Ya I'm with you on this, but it is cool to see these guys go big. I'm totally over half-pipe, very boring. I like the jib contests and boarder-cross, both very entertaining.
These are a series of videos that detail his early success last season, his injury, and rehab. He worked so hard to get healthy, I have tons of respect for that guy.
Most of you dont realize it but Danny davis had a similar injury in new Zealand a few years back. He had a bad surgery and had to have a second one to correct it. The next year, after heavy rehab, he was killing it also. I had no doubt that MM could do it....
Look at what Candide Thovex went through with his injury(broken back), which almost left him paralyzed. What he has done since is nothing short of remarkable. I know I know....he is a skier....but in my books, he still kicks ass, and you have to respect that.
According to the CBC, McMorris suffered a fractured jaw, fractured left arm, ruptured spleen, a stable pelvic fracture, rib fractures and a collapsed left lung.
Heard about this about an hour ago. What a bummer, he basically just recovered from his last accident. To top it off, the olympics are closing in and i'm pretty sure he was guaranteed a spot on team Canada. Hope he is able to make yet again another full recovery. Positive vibes his way.
When I first saw the list of injuries and that it happened in the backcountry I thought it may have been an avalanche. That's one helluva injury list from a crash.
Oh no this is awful I read he waited for an hour and a half for them to get to him... lying in pain because they were in the BC....with a damaged spleen and femur? And he was conscious. omfg. Horrible. So glad he is in good hands now. Seems like his surgeries went well.
Damn. That's just brutal for a guy of his caliber to get hurt so badly doing something so routine, but it's fitting. Seems like the worst crashes me and some of my buddies have had were while doing some really run of the mill stuff.
Looks like his recovery is going super fast. He snapchats a lot! He seems to be out and about at Whistler with his dad (not riding) which is good to see. Pretty amazing fast recovery though!!!!!
That's great news. I've seen some of his Instagram vids and last he was walking. I wish him the best and a speedy recovery. He's such a great ambassador for snowboarding.
Ya I don't think this injury was as bad as his femur break, a leg break can be a career ender for some athletes. But he was pretty banged up, this dude rides so hard, maybe biggest balls in the sport. I hope he can compete in the Olympics but if not whatever. I just don't want this dude to die or get rekt bad, like Kevin Pearce rekt. I love snowboarding too but I don't want to piss in a bag for the rest of my life cuz I got rekt snowboarding.
Wait...the guy from snowboard pro camp has the same name. What a coincidence. Thought you were talking about him for a sec.
