So, im just all around stoked this so far this season!! I've been trying to get out as much as possible to step up my skills and so far i've been able to go almost everyweekend which puts me up to 7 riding days so far. I've gotten more comfortable with small to medium sized kickers and for the first time and actually actually land on the landings. Did my first frontside grab off a kicker because now i can actually get air(a small feat for some of you, i know but i wanted to scream and wave my hands in the air after landing!). Im Trying to build up to a backside 180 off a kicker!
I had a ride impact from sports authority which i think is sports authority's version of the ride control. Rode that about 4 seasons. Last saturday, for the first time i rode my brand new Burton Custom and WOW! what a difference! I can ollie easier/higher. I can almost fully butter. I can tail press 180 and then ollie a 180 out of it back into my normal stance. (I dont even know if that makes sense)I've never been able to do either of those things on my Ride. Also, some of you might think its lame but i can do a pretty long tripod now. Hmm, what else.. I also went out to tahoe for the first time last saturday which was pretty sweet since they had gotten 18" of fresh pow a couple nights before. Oh and im not sure yet, but i think it will be safe to say i'll be as fast as all my friends down black diamonds. I hope i dont come off as bragging, its just that previous to this season i wasn't able to do any of this stuff!(at least not fully) So i dont know why i made this thread but i think i just want to show how much i love snowboarding.. YEAH! |

That's what the sport is all about. My wife and I have progressed as well this season. I too have started to hit more jumps, progressed my switch riding, and hopefully landing some decent 1's by the end of the year. It's all about having fun, and enjoying the sport.
