So I was browsing around NOAA when I stumbled upon these "Winter Weather" graphs.
Now being from Washington State, the map seems to be correct. I know that we’ve had 40% less precip,
because I’ve done about 40% less riding. And looking at California, given their recent washout, which
dumped 70″+ of snow in a week at local resorts (bear/tahoe/squaw), It is safe to say that they have been “Wetter”.
That is only precipitation though, how about temperature?
Kinda weird to look at isn’t it? I would think it would be reversed being that Florida isn’t usually
the coldest place, but everything seems to have followed the trend pretty well
(with the exception of the Northern Midwest Snowstorm right around Christmas).
So my questions to you are…
- Have the maps been correct in your neck of the woods?
- Has the temperature seemed warmer or colder then last year?
- How's the snowpack in your area? Does it seem to correspond to the graph?
