Here's what happened on a chairlift today

A conversation between me and this DOOSH skier on a chairlift.

Me: "How's it going?"
Guy: "Great day....oh great...a snowboarder..."
Me: "Hey now, don't talk crap"
Guy: "Lemme guess cause I don't snowboard I suck."
Me: "I never said that"
A few mins pass...

Guy: "Snowboarding in powder is SO much easier than skiing!"
Me: *extremely frustrated* "YEAH must take REAL talent to use two poles for balance!!!"

WTF? Just trying to start a normal, happy convo with the guy and he has to be a dick.

If I ever have the pleasure to ride a chairlift with that kid again, I'm gonna "accidentally" knock him off of it.

Nice! Well this was at Bachelor here in Oregon. I just don't understand why people make it a mission to wake up in the morning and decide to be an asshole, especially to a girl on a snowboard. And you're right, they're all not that bad. I shared the chair with this skier that must have been in his 50-60s and he was commenting on all the boarders doing tricks saying how cool that was and we talked shit about moguls.

Generally the only skiers that seem to be stuck up are the ones on the blacks. Most skiers I meet who are in the park or are just there for fun are pretty cool.

Wow someone has some self confidence issues. Sorry you had to deal with a prick like that, I hope every time he grabs those poles he thinks of what you said, lol. Sounds like maybe someone else was raggin' on him for being a skier, or he had a bad incident with a snowboarder and now he's got his panties in a bunch.

Funny though how he was happy to talk until he saw the board.

Almost all of the older skiers that I've talked to mention that they would have tried out snowboarding if it was around when they were younger. Unfortunately though, learning to snowboard would take quite a toll on an older person.

I loved it when I was on the ski lift with a ski mom and (maybe 6 or 7 year old) competitive skier son. He saw my board and mentioned that he wanted to try it out and the mom flat out said "I'll never allow any snowboards in my house!"
Fun ride after that, haha
