Question 49.50?

YouTube - Shawn White's Best Grand Prix Run a 49.50!

Not starting another white bashing on purpose, but a score of 49.50 out of 50? I'm no judge, but in my opinion a damn near perfect score should be perfect landings up on the vert, EVERY TRICK no matter how difficult the trick is. Sorry, just wanting other peoples opinions on this.

Edit: sorry updated link

As anti him I am, that was a dam near perfect run.... One of the bigger things I see a lot of people do is not hit the landing perfect and the board skids down the pipe, and he only did that on his last trick which is probably where the .5 went, I dunno.

I think he's an arrogant asshole that's lost sight of where he came from, but ya, that was a sick run

Yeah I won't disagree that it wasn't a great run, but I specifically meant landing down in the tranny on the double corks, I'm not saying it is easy, but for a perfect run it should be landing up on the vert. If a straight air is going to be judged and someone lands down the tranny it will normally lower the score a bit.

Again just my opinion.

That seemed pretty sick to me.
I'm not the most informed, but other than a little sketch on one landing it seemed damn near perfect.

(Of course, I'm also against anyone ever getting a perfect score in these types of events doesn't make sense)

I'm a S. White fan and feel that he is very talented and deserves whatever score he got. The run was a great run and if he did not land on the vert....oh well. That is something the judges have to live with. Maybe he is a bit over rated because there is a lot of other great talent out there like Kev Pierce and etc but i wont go on there. I don't see what is so arrogant about him. let the young man do him. He got his break and I don't blame him for running with it. Like young Geezy said,"Imma do me."

Watch early year Sean interviews and then watch current interviews. That should show you a little bit of how he changed. He used to be insanely down to earth and just happy to be in the position he was in. Now he gets all pissed when he doesn't win, and doesn't seem to have time for interviews and such... He's a totally different person now.

i don't know if it deserved that score but it looked sick to me. I mean, if he was landing so low on the tranny it would only hurt his speed and amplitude on the next trick. He was still going huge so I think it worked out for him.

i don't really know shaun white that well so i did a search and watched some interviews, read some stuff.

it's not at all clear how one could describe him as arrogant. in every thing i watched and read, he was respectful and pretty damn humble.

why do you think he is arrogant?
