Thumbs up Hello from Bellingham...

Hey guys, been lurking on here for a while and finally made an account and decided to make this into post here.

I've gone snowboarding twice, both times with rental equipment, and although I'm still working on the basics, really have enjoyed myself so I decided to go all in and pick up my own gear. My girlfriend would normally yell at me for "wasting money" on another hobby but this time she actually told me to do it because she was tired of listening to me bitch and sitting on my ass all winter because I can't go fly fishing,

I really have enjoyed Snowolf's vids, gives me a lot of stuff to work on next time I go to the mountain. Finally going to use my new equipment next Monday up at Baker, sure is nice living so close to such a highly rated mountain, can't wait to give it a shot and keep progressing.

Here's my setup, I know it's a fairly advanced setup but I want to be able to be able to "grow into" the equipment. I got the board on clearance as last year's model, and had a nice $75 off $500 coupon for the shop where I bought my boots and bindings. And yes, I spent 2 hours getting fitted and trying on as many boots as possible before deciding on the boots that I did.

I'm aware of what is taking place this coming weekend and that is partially why I'm going up on Monday instead. I'd love to check out the event during the weekend but funds just will not allow! Looks like it is quite the event though.

Welcome. You live in a great spot for boarding.

Aren't there some large steelies in the Skagit this time of year?

I've never really gotten into steelhead fishing, I'm more of a small stream/alpine lakes type person. Steelhead numbers have been declining for years, and the Skagit was actually closed to steelhead fishing just recently due to lack of fish.
