ok so ive been on this forum for maybe 2 yrs and have seen and replied to a wide variety of questions that newbies ask.

Let me start off by saying, the point of FORUMS, is to keep the Q&A's going... everytime i see a new member ask a question, someone automatically replies "Use the search function douchebag"

This may be true, but if that were the case, then every forum would have a maximum of 50 threads because there would be no need to reply since the answer is somewhere posted from 3 months ago.

When a new member comes along, he wants a simple answer even though its been asked before, does he realize that? Prob not or maybe he doesnt feel like searching thru the 1000's of posts.

If a question is asked thats been asked by another guy from many moons ago, then the chances are that someone new will give a little more insight to the question, either from experience, from research or from word of mouth.

If u got nothing else to help the guy out with besides "Use the search function" then just ignore his post and go scavenge somewhere else.

Mr P, perhaps you could do the search for them and then make the link for the old thread. Aren't most discussions for education and ENTERTAINMENT....basically a waste of time...waiting for the next time to get to the hill.

Top 3 regurgitated threads.......do you think people, that really want to learn a trick of the trade, will be helped what-so-ever by any of these threads??? No. Do I really enjoy seeing them in some form every effing day???? No.... Now getting to my point, most of these type threads are not intended to be used to gain anything other then attention...so, that is what they are getting.....

but your right...with exception of really irritating day and needing to take it out on someone...I usually do ignore...

You're right, what we need are threads that have Guides to Waxing, Tuning and Board Repair. Or a Boot Fitting and Maintenance Guide. And make them sticky, so they're the first thing I see when I enter a section. That way, we could cut down on all the repetitive posts.

What I am doing as a mod on a skateboard forum is to tell people to search, but to also link them to other threads. Once that is said and done, I typicall lock it as well, to try and keep the clutter contained.
