Halfpipe Etiquette

Why do people fly down the middle of the halfpipe when someone else is actually riding it? I almost nailed a kid on skis. I heard something and saw him from the corner of my eye bombing the middle of the pipe. If I was listening to tunes, I would have nailed him. Instead I grabbed the top of the wall to slow myself and bailed on my run.

It pisses me off because I hike the pipe, so ever run has some effort involved.

No way I'm at fault either, I called my run, dropped in when the pipe was empty and he entered the pipe after me.

The Never Summer SL-R is the best all mountain board I have been on... Ever.
Buy it... Ride it... Love it...

Happened to me over the weekend. Similar thing, I went in, then a young skier dropped in right after me. I guess he fell and decided to just skid down the middle. I about nailed him but he avoided me and fell again. Poor thing went rolling down but I decided to stop and check him out since it looked like he got hurt. He just said "I'm ok, just keep going..." Why he jumped in too close after me? I have no idea...

Same thing happened to me but I nailed the guy, I was coming down from my toeside wall so right as I was cutting across the flats on my heels the impact happened. Just some moron riding down the middle, not riding up the walls at all according to people at the top. Guy was pissed at me, but he was injured and I wasn't.

I'll be damned if I look over my shoulder going from wall to wall. Not gonna happen.
