Some of you may remember my thread about possibly buying a new Machete someone was selling. Well it looks like this guy is selling a bunch of other NEW snowboards up on craigslist. I didn't think too much about it until I started asking him question. I'm pretty sure this guy is lieing to me. He gives me the story of buying the board for his kids and can't return it so he is forced to sell it. The problem I saw is that this is the 2nd board on craigslist and for TWO different kids. It wouldn't surprise me if he has more boards for sale. If he manage to buy these at auction/outlet and am reselling it to make a profit, I wonder why he just don't say so? I'm wondering now if they are stolen?

Stolen? I'm a little doubtful cause they're new. How much of a discount is the guy offering?? If it's <50%, I wouldn't be surprised if he bought them elsewhere and is reselling them for profit. Maybe he doesn't want prospective buyers to search around a little more and find the board for cheaper, or maybe he's abusing some discount and doesn't want anyone to know.

I just did a little browsing and he is selling another board. That's 3 brand new board that I know of. The third is a DH. I normally don't do business with people that lie, cos I don't know what else they are lieing about. Maybe he just wants me to bring cash and jack me? He does live in the ritzy area of town, so i doubt this. I'll have to go with a couple of buddy if I end up buying a board. He selling for about 40-50% off retail.

I don't know, if he's buying and reselling for profit why wouldn't he just say that straight up? If I was buying a brand new board and he's offering 50% off retail then I'd still think, "hey im getting a better deal than what I can find online for this"... Sounds like hot items to me. I knew a kid who worked at a sporting goods store and had his friend come in and pay for a pair of shoes and walked out with a board a few times...the kid eventually got caught by mgmt. But the buyers, who were my friends, walked away with cheap boards! Just be careful...
