post any funny or frustrating stories!
my first day learning was a terrible day to learn. it was very cold (below 30F), windy, and the resort was blowing snow. besides all the falling down, my goggles were apparently very cheap. they kept fogging up to the point where i couldnt see anything at all. i couldnt take them off either, because of all the wind and snow. eventually i ate it pretty hard and the goggles came off. some douchebag came cruising by and asked if the goggles where mine, holding them out. when i said yes, thinking it was a nice gesture, he laughed and rode off. i think he yelled "you suck" also, haha. i hope he put them on and hit a tree once they fogged up. what about you? |

haha...this story isn't that funny but it's kind of ironic. When I was at Lake Louise I was coming off the chair with one of my friends. the people in front of me fell, but they didn't stop the chair. I panicked and swerved around them and didn't notice that there was a sign right in front of me. I ran right into the sign and knocked it down, but that's not the funniest part. I stood up and saw what the sign said "Please slow down in case of collision"

I'd have to say the funniest / most embarrassing thing to ever happen to me would have to be this one time at Dodge Ridge.
So we were going up chair 3, my buddy dropped his glove.. The run under chair 3 is considered the "face" it's a diamond I think, pretty steep but i can bomb down it normally.. no prob. Anyways so we go to look for his glove and I wasn't paying attention and caught my heel edge with my back facing down hil. I ended up sliding down the whole face on my back (it didn't hurt) and people were shouting and cheering from the lift (was right under it). I was just waving back and laughing. |

ummm thats pretty much spring conditions....
lets see...Dec 27th 09...buddy and me went to Jay Peak...it was Very Cold -1F...windy and white out conditions....his goggles started icing over on the ride up the chair...half way down our run he decideds to ditch the goggles then stop in the middle of the trail in the middle of the whiteout...I had no spotter (like a nascar driver trying to navigate through a cloud of smoke)...i just kept going straight and guess who was right there! My buddy now believes he still has broken ribs from that day...word of advice...never stop in the middle of a trail! |

i probably should have mentioned that at the time my goggles were fogging up it was around 17F. pretty cold for me at least haha. on my first day snowboarding i somehow missed sitting on the chairlift and it knocked me down and almost ran me over. luckily we were on an empty lift so only my friends saw me... |

seeing my buddy overshoot a jump and landing flat. Ending up with shattered bones and a fucked up knee. Takes at least 3 years before recovery. Not ensured to be a full recovery even. Feel so bad for the guy!
edit: woo 200th post
