Question Do you prefer boardercross or half pipe

Just wondering what people prefer to watch?

I might be in the minority but I do prefer the boardercross. I like the four people fighting for position and the skilli maintaining the speed whilst handling the jumps and dodging eachother.

I love the half pipe as well they're both highly skilled exciting sports in different ways.
It's just that half pipe gets a lot more attention and was described as the big snowboard event of the Olympics.

Also one of the commentators kept saying Shaun White is currently the best snowboarder rather than saying he's the best half pipe snowboarder. (arguably,I know there are a lot ofopinions on this.)
Not that this is a Shaun White thread I respect what he does. But comments like that show the importance put on half pipe.

They are both cool. I think board cross is really exciting but half pipe is impressive. I enjoy watching them both and wish that the board cross track was longer. Thats the only bad part. All the snowboard events are over super quick.

I would be very interested to see how well Shaun does in board cross. I have seen him compete in slope style events also and he does kill it. I think any way you look at it he is probably like top 3 in the world. His board control and composure is just so hard to beat. He has mastered the sport without a doubt. We are at the Olympics and if you watch halfpipe you can just see that nobody can get his height, or be as perfectly motionless as he is in the air.

I'm sure you could argue that there are awesome "core" riders out there that just don't compete. Well...then I guess we'll just never know how good they are, but I doubt they could do it like Shaun.

I thought they were both good, but I liked the snowboard cross more I think.

boardercross... i love it...

pipe, i don't ride much myself, so i don't relate... anyone can feel like they can do boardercross, thats why its so awesome... meanwhile, anyone who has had the opportunity to ride a course will tel you... not as easy as it looks. i ended up over a snow fence losing an edge...

both fun to watch, but my vote is boardercross.

I like both. Boarder cross has to be on a good course for it to beat out pipe for me. The x-games course was much better that then the Olympic one.

I like both really but am not really into freestyle so I am more of a bordercross person.

Boardercross because you don't get judged it's just time so there's no chance of an "unfair" judging. It's also more exciting because it's lots of people at once and there's shoving and crashes.

shaun white in a bordercross- holy shit that's hilarious just picturing it.

those core riders are not absent from the olympics because they're afraid of shaun white. snowboarding isn't anything about the olympics- not for everyone.

I didn't say they were afraid of Shaun White. They just don't have the training and practice of him.

They did this once in basketball. I forget who it was but the NBA player went up against this supposed incredible street baller and absolutely destroyed him because of his strength in fundamentals and pure skill.

Its easy to say your awesome when you don't compete against anyone for title of the best.
