Skicross compared to Boardercross - Snowboarding Forum

I know this isa snowboard forum but did you guys think of the ski cross?

I found it jgreat fun to watch and was surprised how pushy everyone was. I think because the skiers were more confident on the corners they got closer. They seemed to bang each others skis quite a bit.
I thought the skis would pop off more easily but they werent set like that, so they made recoveries like boarders. I liked how in the quater final a skier caught the back of a crash spun a 360 and still came really close to finishing 2nd.

I couldn't help thinking throughout the race what affect a ski pole to the face would have.

i love teh skiercross/boardercross. best events in any olympics. what time is womens skiercross tonight?

i like the skicross, but i like boards better... i think the main reasons are that i now solely snowboard, and its more devastating to have a slip up on a board. on skiis, you get cut off or have an issue, you can get your balance back, lift a foot, whatever, and hardly lose speed. on a board, you have to get the edge down and then the speed is lost. the actual crashes are more serious usually on skiis, but thats to be expected.

while we're talking about it... anyone else think the skiers either shouldn't be allowed poles, or should at least have smaller ones? man.. they start rolling up those windows and they suddenly have a 12 foot wingspan with pointy things at the end.
